SUMMARY:MCORE Foundation Cardiac Screening
DESCRIPTION:Cardiac Screenings can save a life. \nSudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) is life-threatening emergency that happens when the heart stops beating. It happens in people of all ages\, including kids\, and comes on with no warning. It’s NOT a heart attack – it’s a structural or electrical issue with the heart. \nSCA can be fatal if it’s not treated immediately\, but the best way to protect your child is through testing to determine risk for SCA. \nDon’t miss your chance to have your student screened for SCA. Giving Hearts a Hand in partnership with Decatur County Memorial Hospital Health Connect is offering low-cost\, $20 screenings at Health Connect at the Decatur County YMCA on Tuesday\, July 28\, 2026.  \nScreening Details: \n\nEach student will receive an electrocardiogram (ECG) and limited echocardiogram performed by a registered cardiac sonographer\nResults are read by pediatric cardiologists\nEach test lasts around 10-12 minutes\nImages are stored in your secured account for future access\n\nThe screenings are sponsored by MCORE Foundation\, a nationally-recognized non-profit dedicated to preventing SCA in youths and young adults through education\, screening\, and research\, and funded by a generous donation from Giving Hearts a Hand. \nTo learn more or to register\, visit https://mcorefoundation.org \n \n
