Launched by Indiana Philanthropy Alliance in 2021, the Mutz Institute provides a leadership training experience to skill-up professionals serving in board and executive roles at foundations, corporations, and social impact organizations across Indiana.

Lohrum serves as the Director of the Hospital Foundation of Decatur County, a 501(c) 3 organization committed to providing additional financial support for the healthcare initiatives of Decatur County Memorial Hospital. Lohrum completed a competitive application process to gain one of 24 spots in this year’s class. Lohrum’s commitment to philanthropy and public service is evident through this esteemed distinction.

“It’s truly an honor to be part of such a prestigious program. The Mutz Institute provides an incredible opportunity to learn from leaders across the state, and I’m excited to bring that knowledge and insight back to Decatur County,” said Lohrum. “This experience will empower us to strengthen our community and enhance the impact of the work we do every day.”

“It is imperative that Indiana cultivates a generation of sharp leaders ready to forge significant advancements in critical sectors such as education and economic development,” said IPA President and CEO Claudia Cummings. “Through this program, we celebrate the visionary legacy of John Mutz and his foundational role in establishing IPA, all while fostering a dynamic and diverse cohort of philanthropic pioneers for the future.”
