The Hospital Foundation of Decatur County hosted its annual grand Gala, the largest fund raising event of the year. All funds raised from the event directly support the initiatives of the Foundation to support Decatur County Memorial Hospital (DCMH) in: providing care for those in need, offer screenings at health fairs, conduct facility improvements and expansions, upgrade equipment and technology, and provide continuing education to our dedicated team.
This year’s gala was an Enchanted Fairy Garden theme and was particularly remarkable, attracting over 400 attendees and raising $140,000. The elegant evening included dinner, silent auction, live auction, online auction, music, opportunities to interact with fellow attendees, and more. Rex McKinney, CEO/President of DCMH, expressed gratitude for the generosity and support shown by the community businesses and individuals who contributed to the success of the gala, adding, “Your support of the Foundation is a key component in contributing to our wonderful campus and supporting our team as we continue to provide exceptional care to our community.”
During the event, Mandy Jo Lohrum, Director of the Hospital Foundation highlighted the Community Impact Fund noting its ability to enhance access to preventive healthcare screenings for the community. Lohrum said, “With your assistance, screenings provided at events like the Women’s Health Expo, Men’s Tailgate, and Healthy Fair can continue. Access to these preventive healthcare screenings is crucial for early detection and plays a vital role in disease treatment and management.”
